HITT: handwriting interactive Teaching Tool - Web Application

HITT: Handwriting Interactive Teaching Tool is a web application that is a companion to the Handwriting Without Tears Workbooks. Features included, videos, teacher led lessons, music, and custom teacher lesson plans.

My role - UX/UI Design

For this project I was involved in the entire product lifecycle starting from white boarding sessions, click-able wireframe prototypes, creating mockups, iconography, assisting in usability testing, while helping to translate the requirements into an intuitive interface. This product was designed to be used on an interactive whiteboard.

My role constantly required interfacing with both the print (workbook ideation) team, technology team, and stakeholders. We set up a very aggressive development cycle of 6 months for release.

Design Challenges

As we were designing and developing this application, there were several enhancements made during development in order to make the project more successful.

Left Navigation

The navigation not only contained workbook specific features, but also included an application switcher. This proved challenging as a user could use any number of applications within HITT.
